Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 18, 2026 · Last updated: July 18, 2026

Overview

OpenChair, Inc. (“OpenChair,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an on-demand dental care marketplace that connects patients with licensed dental professionals for after-hours and emergency care. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website at app.openchair247.com and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Health information you provide during triage and booking is also governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Our SMS/text-message program is described in detail in our Messaging Terms. If any term of the HIPAA Notice conflicts with this Policy as to Protected Health Information, the HIPAA Notice controls.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: Name, email address, mobile phone number, and password.
  • Professional information (dentists): License number, NPI, specialties, malpractice details, and practice information.
  • Health information: Chief complaints, symptoms, photos, and triage data (Protected Health Information — see HIPAA Notice).
  • Payment information: Processed securely by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store raw card numbers.
  • Communications data: Records of the emails, in-app messages, and SMS/text messages we exchange with you, including delivery status and your opt-in/opt-out choices.
  • Usage & device data: Log files, IP address, session duration, feature interactions, browser and device information, and approximate location (when you grant it) to find nearby dentists.
  • Cookies & similar technologies: As described under “Cookies and Tracking” below.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the OpenChair platform and matching services.
  • To verify dental-professional credentials and maintain platform safety and integrity.
  • To process payments, deposits, and the platform revenue split, and to send transactional emails and SMS (appointment confirmations, match alerts, and booking updates).
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To communicate service updates and security notices, and — only with your separate consent — any marketing.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

SMS / Text Messaging

With your consent, OpenChair sends transactional SMS/text messages — appointment confirmations, match alerts, and booking updates — to the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Full program details, supported carriers, and opt-out instructions are in our Messaging Terms.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS/text-messaging consent (opt-in) with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are used solely to deliver the OpenChair messages you requested, and are shared only with the messaging service providers (such as Twilio) that transmit those messages on our behalf under contract. No mobile information is shared with third parties for marketing.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only:

  • With dental professionals you choose to connect with through the platform.
  • With service providers acting on our behalf under written data-processing agreements — for example: Amazon Web Services (hosting), Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS delivery), Anthropic (AI triage assistance), and analytics providers. These providers may use your data only to perform services for us.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests from public authorities, and to protect the rights, safety, and property of OpenChair, our users, and the public.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to the protections in this Policy.

Cookies and Tracking

We use session cookies for authentication and essential platform functionality; these cannot be disabled. With your consent, we also use Google Ads cookies to measure the effectiveness of our advertising — for example, whether an ad led to a booking. Once you accept, this tag shares page-visit and conversion signals with Google for advertising measurement and remarketing. These marketing cookies are off by default and load only after you accept them in our cookie banner, or, on our ad-funded booking pages, until you opt out using the control below. You can decline at the banner, opt out at any time, and withdraw a prior consent by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out where required. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws, you may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising. OpenChair does not sell your personal information for money. When you visit our ad-funded booking pages we may load Google Ads cookies to measure whether an ad led to a booking — under these laws that measurement can count as “sharing.” Opting out below stops those advertising and analytics cookies from loading on this device. This control does not affect the transactional SMS or email you have signed up for.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Health-related records are retained in accordance with applicable state dental record-retention laws (minimum 7 years for adults). We retain SMS consent and opt-out records for as long as needed to honor your choices and demonstrate compliance. You may request deletion of non-health account data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

Data Security

We implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data and will notify you and regulators of a breach as required by law.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the use of your personal data, to opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@openchair247.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Children

OpenChair is not directed at children under 18. Minor patients must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who consents to our terms on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
